Acknowledgement Of Country

We would like to acknowledge and pay our respects to the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land on which we live, work, and gather in Byron Bay. We recognise the unique and enduring relationship that Aboriginal people have with this country, which dates back thousands of years.

We acknowledge the Arakwal Bumberlin people of the Bundjalung Nation as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land upon which we are privileged to operate. We honour their ancestors, past, present, and emerging, and their ongoing connection to Country.

We acknowledge and respect the deep knowledge, wisdom, and cultural practices that have been nurtured and passed down through countless generations of Aboriginal peoples. We acknowledge the significance of this land, its waterways, and its spiritual significance to the Arakwal Bumberlin people and their ongoing responsibility to care for and protect it.

We extend our gratitude and appreciation to the Arakwal Bumberlin people for sharing their rich cultural heritage with us and for their ongoing contribution to the community. We commit ourselves to fostering understanding, respect, and collaboration, as we walk together on this journey of reconciliation.

As visitors and guests on this land, we are committed to learning from and working in partnership with Aboriginal peoples to ensure a just and equitable future for all. We acknowledge the ongoing struggles faced by Aboriginal communities and affirm our commitment to advocating for justice, equality, and recognition of Aboriginal rights.

We invite all visitors and community members to join us in acknowledging the Traditional Owners and Custodians of this land, to respect their culture, and to contribute to reconciliation efforts. By doing so, we honour the legacy of the Arakwal Bumberlin people and their connection to Country.

Acknowledgment of Country is an ongoing process, and we are committed to continually learning, listening, and amplifying Aboriginal voices. Together, we can create a future where Aboriginal culture and heritage are recognised, respected, and celebrated.

We stand on Aboriginal land. We walk together.
